The school carries out a sustainable development audit to develop the chosen theme.

What is a Sustainable Development Audit?

The Sustainable Development Audit is the cornerstone of the Eco-Schools programme. On the one hand, the aim of the Audit is to identify the initial situation of the school in terms of existing management and practices. On the other hand, it should assess the level of participation and willingness to get involved, and compile an inventory of current educational projects and activities. The Audit must be undertaken in relation to the theme that the school has decided to work on.

How is the Audit carried out?

The tasks carried out during the Audit are many and varied. They may include measurements with instruments, field observations, the collection of existing data, interviews or even behavioural surveys. If done well, the Audit will allow you to identify areas of work and will help you to prepare your Action Plan.
